Much of my consulting time is spent researching and advising on new technologies then deriving implementation strategies based on impact and needs of the company.  I may start with a box solution, but it's my experience that out of the box is never the final solution.  To ensure all projects go to a successful term, I create, test and test.  All the while creating and maintaining electronic user and administrator documentation. Some of previous projects were physical enterprise disaster recovery plan including e-mail, database and financial data. Developing, maintenance schedules and guide lines for networking security products and services.  Design and implement A.U.P. along with security IDS and Firewall solutions.  Oversee management of Software license tracking and compliance.

PROJECTS

The project I am most proud of involved migrating three data centers into one and implementing a strategy to maintain a high level of up time.  When I took the job corporate users had a 1 in 3 chance of going through the day without some type of software/hardware/network failure.  By combining the data centers, implementing a standard desktop and creating and implementing an e-mail, workstation and network usage policies, TCO dropped 50%, IT department costs dropped 20% and Planned down time went to 0.5% from 20% in 8 months.  Last time I checked there had been ZERO unplanned down time in the last 6 years and the datacenter has undergone 3 major upgrades during that time.
